Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 November 2026
Lumen is a player for your Plex library. It has no adverts, no analytics and no tracking, and the developer doesn't run any server of its own that your viewing goes through.
Your Plex account
You sign in with Plex. On iPhone and iPad that happens on Plex's own page, and on Apple TV with a code you enter at plex.tv/link, so Lumen never sees your password. It stores a sign-in token in your device's Keychain.
Lumen talks directly to Plex and to the Plex servers you have access to, to show your libraries, play your media and keep your watch progress. Your sidebar order and colour choices are saved to your Plex account. When you recommend a title to a friend, it's sent through Plex. All of this is covered by Plex's privacy policy.
Stored on your device
Your settings, recent searches, downloads and a short log of recent activity stay on your device. The log isn't sent anywhere unless you send a report.
Report a Problem
Nothing leaves your device for the developer unless you choose Send Report in Settings → Report a Problem. A report holds the last few minutes of that log, your Plex profile name, your server's name, the app version and your device model. It can include the titles you opened and the address of your server, but never your sign-in token.
A report is stored in Apple's iCloud under a short code. Only someone with the code can look it up through Lumen's tools, and the developer uses it only to fix the problem you reported. If you'd like one removed, send the code using the support page.
Children
Lumen isn't aimed at children and collects nothing from them. What can be watched depends on the Plex account and its restrictions.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with a new date.
